While people were busy splashing colours all over the town and themselves, I had a field time making a colourful and cheerful rangoli. It still adorns my home, welcoming me with a broad smile whenever I see it. Do have a look....

'Wow! Wrong Number' - An Excerpt
Dear friends,
Wow! Wrong Number
Foreword
It’s often said that “The grass is
always greener on the other side!” What makes it so tempting, so sinfully
alluring, that one wants to stray over to that side and even contemplate
settling down there forever?
Isn’t it natural human tendency to
constantly judge and compare two given situations and opt, sometimes
unscrupulously, for the seemingly better of the two; if provided a chance?
Does the cross-over bode well for, or land
one, in a bigger mess? What happens to those left behind, abandoned as it were,
to struggle with the loss of a dream? Can they reclaim their lost ones who have
flown towards greener pastures; and their own lives, in the bargain? Or should
they start afresh?
Who
decides what is right and what is wrong? We or our destiny?
Meena would spot him picking up old
and discarded newspapers from dust-bins and reading them loudly. “Civil war in so and so country!” “So and so
dead….” “What is this world coming to?”
He would ask of no one in particular, stare vaguely around, shake his
head and scratch his head.
He would them resemble a distinguished
college professor, who was disgusted with the state of affairs in the world and
frustrated at his inability to do something concrete to alter the events over
which he obviously didn’t have any control!

No Mother-in-law, Please! An Excerpt and Review
Chapter 1 - A new proposal for Yogita
“And what is the
problem with this one?” her father asked Yogita, exasperatedly.
“Nothing.” She said
coolly.
“Do you think that no
one is worthy of you?” her brother Yogesh asked her caustically. He was two
years younger than her.
He continued in the
same vein, “Do you think that you are some apsara?
Please get real Didi! Soon we’ll
have no worthy proposals left to consider!”
“So be it!” she
countered petulantly.
